In the APRILIA ATLANTIC 500 scooter, attention has been paid to those details which make all the difference. Opening of the locks on the various compartments is centralised and controlled by the ignition key. The saddle, for example, is opened directly from the vehicle's ignition block. A pneumatic gas-piston controlled rod lifts it and holds it up, leaving both hands free and thus making it extremely easy to load and unload.
During the design phase, particular care was taken over aerodynamic protection. Lengthy wind tunnel testing has enabled the design of solutions to optimise the scooter's overall coefficient of aerodynamic penetration, particularly in the presence of both rider and passenger. Together with the position of the handlebars, the configuration and type of saddle moulding and position of the foot rest optimise the ergonomics of the ATLANTIC.
